
Behavior Technician
Anchor Academy is a comprehensive, early intervention program rooted in applied behavior analysis. We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced behavior technicians to provide direct, applied behavior analysis services to young clients primarily diagnosed with autism. We are a local, BCBA-D-owned clinic with a focus on quality of services. We offer paid time off (sick, vacation, holiday), medical benefits (full-time), dental, vision and voluntary benefits, a 401k with 4% match, and reimbursed licensing/registration fees.
Current listing is for 35-40 hours per week, primarily in our clinic setting with additional afternoon hours required for in-home/community settings. Availability needed between 7:30 am and 6 pm Monday through Friday based on client needs.
Job duties include:

Implementing behavior analytic programs in areas such as learner readiness, communication, self-help, social & play skills.

Collecting data to track progress

Managing challenging behaviors

Communicating effectively with supervisors, other staff, and parents

Adhering to BACB® professional and ethical compliance code & BACB® RBT Ethics code
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree (preferred) in behavior analysis, education, psychology or related field with evidence of High School Diploma.

Registered as a Behavior Analysis Interventionist with the State of Oregon (RBAI) - preferred
-
Registered Behavior Technician® credential (RBT) - preferred

Ability to successfully complete and maintain certification in Safety Care®(training is provided by employer)

Pass a criminal history background check and have a clean driving record

One year or more of experience implementing ABA-based interventions with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities - preferred

Ability to meet physical requirements (below)

Ability to communicate effectively (both spoken and written)

* You must be able to write proficiently and professionally and pass informal and formal written exams.

Ability to speak to clients, caregivers and staff in a manner that is easily understood

Ability to accept feedback from supervisors and a willingness to learn

Ability to make a minimum one-year commitment including prompt arrival, consistent work attendance, and reliability

A drivers license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance

Ability to travel across the Portland metro area

Physical Requirements:
-
Healthy and able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and participate in activities such as walking, running, standing, sitting, bending, reaching.

Position involves playing and interacting with clients on the floor, outdoors, or in settings where the furniture is child-size.

Visual acuity and ability to read and understand written information across different mediums (paper, electronic devices)

Auditory perception and ability to discriminate both high and low volume levels, understand and respond to oral communication from others (facing toward as well as away from you), and ability to perceive subtle errors in speech of clients

Wear personal protective equipment including a face mask for extended periods of time across the day
